UPDATE: JANUARY 21, 2006

Hi Everyone

Its been a while since the last story which ended with the show in Norwich - I have five events to cover so here goes......

Following Norwich we took a train to Manchester for the G-Mex show which takes place in the old Manchester Central Station, and the architecture is quite magnificent.

Daniel Logan was over from California and he's growing up fast. It was great to meet up with fellow actor Tim Brooke-Taylor again - we had worked together on a rather hilarious pantomime, and also toured the Far East with several plays. We also found time to visit the Trafford Centre and see the new Bond film 'Casino Royal'. I thought Daniel Craig was very impressive as 007.

Next stop was Memorabilia at the NEC. This is always a fun show expecially just before Christmas, and three of the attractions were Lady Penelope's car, Luke's landspeeder and the infamous Alien.

Before the end of the weekend I was presented with a silver Boba Fett figure from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Guild, and I was made an honorary member by the Midlands Fan Force.

With hardly any time to pack it was off to the US for a one day event in Grand Rapids MI. Our flight across the Atlantic was uneventful but we were not prepared for the blizzard we encountered when we landed in Chicago - I guess we were lucky to land at all!

Our connecting flight to Grand Rapids was cancelled, and we were left with the prospect of having to camp out in Chicago overnight which would have meant missing the show the following day. We were left to stand in a line of around 500 people to rebook our flight, but Maureen managed to jump the line (very naughty, but needs must) and get us on a flight later that evening. Ironically the guy organising our trip was called John Blizzard and he was there to meet us along with other members of the 501st Midwest Garrison when we finally arrived in Grand Rapids later that evening.

Luckily the following morning the bad weather had cleared and it was a bright and sunny day for the show. It was very busy and the Garrison raised a good sum of money for the 'Make a wish Foundation'. We were taken to Pal's Diner for a meal and then whisked off to Cinema 28 for an evening event.

Sunday gave us a free day to have a little tour of Grand Rapids before heading off to sunny Vegas.

Thanks to all the great guys & girls of the Midwest Garrison for a successful show.

When we landed in Las Vegas there was certainly a change of temperature, but not quite as warm as we had expected.

We had four days to relax and managed to visit many of big hotels to compare their Christmas decorations.

Saturday and Sunday were busy at Antiquities at the Forum shops. Many thanks to Julie and the rest of the gang for all their help. It was then time to head back home for one night before flying off to Ireland to visit my eldest son and his family.

We could only stay a couple of days in Ireland as there was one more Star Wars event to attend in Cardiff, Wales. There were lots of guests and a few new faces from the second trilogy.

We will be off to Italy for the New Year, and are planning a very quiet January before all the fun starts again. Thanks for visiting the website, and we wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

See y'all in 2007.

UPDATE: NOVEMBER 15, 2006

Hi Everyone

It was great to be invited back to the Leicester Space Centre for a Star Wars weekend. The event this year was for charity, and was sold out on both days. Warwick Davis and Kenny Baker were fellow guests, and we all had a great time.

We joined up with the UK garrison for a bite to eat at the local Noodle Bar.

The event had many workshops, and interactive activities for the children. One of the highlights was a reenactment of a scene from Star Wars.

The event came to a close with an auction of replica memorabilia. I was delighted to be asked by Malika (from the Space Centre) to hold the Boba Fett Blastech E-33 rifle which raised a tidy sum for the charity.

We left Leicester (which happens to be the county I was born in many years ago) with the most beautiful evening sky - for the sunset lovers here's yet another!

The following weekend we went to an event in Norwich at the University of East Anglia. An old friend Mark Sayers was putting on his second Star Wars show. Mark had invited some guests from the Phantom Menace and it made a pleasant change to see some new faces. The event went very well and look forward to more shows in the future.

Apropros to nothing I happened to come across this shot of my wedding day in the popular TV soap opera 'The Newcomers' from 1965.

Newcomers .doc. - Time flies.

On a final note I am sad not to be travelling to Costa Rica for the weekend of 18th/19th November, but work came up here making it impossible to travel there on time - hopefully I will visit next year. I hope the show goes well.

Next update in a couple of weeks

Take care everyone

Regards
- Jeremy

UPDATE: OCTOBER 31, 2006

Hi Everyone

Thanks to you all who linked onto the StarHyke website, hopefully we will have some more news soon.

Over the past couple of weeks I have managed to visit three seaside towns in the UK. First of all we went to my hometown of Bognor Regis where the family meet every October on my late mothers' birthday. It was great to see my siblings again and spend the day reminiscing. Next was a trip to Brighton with my two grandsons for a day by the seaside. Finally last weekend we travelled to Hemsby on the Norfolk coast for the Cult T.V. show.

That's enough of beaches - off to Cult T.V. This is an unusual event in that the fans take over a holiday camp for the whole weekend and many guests from famous T.V. series are invited. It is a fun weekend including workshops, screenings, Q & A's and culminates in an awards ceremony rather like the Bafta awards - it gave me a chance to bring out my dinner suit! The StarHyke team were there to air for the first time the pilot episode - it was very well received and left people wanting to see more. Festival director Alex Geairns was our M.C. and did a great job.

Some of the guests included Herb Jefferson Jr. from 'Battlestar Galactica', Francis Matthews from theT.V cult series 'Paul Temple', Kim Hartman & Richard Gibson from 'Allo, Allo', Terry Carter also from 'Battlestar Galactica' and Elisabeth Sladen from 'Dr. Who'.

Finally a photo of our latest grandson who is now 10 months old but looks around two years!

More news next month.

Best wishes to you all.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 6, 2006

Hi everyone

Some interesting news is that the series I filmed last year called 'StarHyke' has a great chance of being aired by a TV company.

The company will want to know if there are enough fans out there who would like to see a new Sci-Fi comedy. The director of the series has put together an amusing two minute musical trailer. We need plenty of hits for the TV station to take note that there are plenty of fans who are wanting to see StarHyke. So below are two links to the websites where you can view the trailer.

The first website is Google Video.

The second is over at You Tube.

I hope you enjoy it - the more hits the we get the more chance there is of success!

Following on from Minneapolis the next event was in Charleroi, Belgium. It is so quick to drive - only two hours from Calais.

We arrived on Friday evening, and had time for a little exploration and were very impressed by the Town Hall designed by architects Joseph Andr? and Jules C?zar.

The show was a collectors fair, and included jewellery, comics, delicious Belgian chocolates as well as cheeses and salami - quite a mixture. There was also a display of old American cars. The attendance was a little disappointing as they were expecting around 6500 people, but we still had a good time mixing with the fans from the Belgian Fan Force. One display was outstanding - a full size model of 'Jabba the Hutt' built by the 501st Prospectors Squad.

On the drive home we called into a shopping mall in Calais and bought wine and even more cheese - we soon regretted buying the camembert as it began to ripen rather quickly on the drive home. We arrived back on Monday afternoon and the next day had another two hour drive, this time to the south coast of England to view a photographic exhibition put on by a photographer friend Peter Greenhill. He was displaying some of his original prints from the 1960's which included a shot of Maureen modelling swimwear on the Costa Smeralda in Sardinia.

As the weather has been so beautiful here we decided to take a trip to the Royal Horticultural Gardens at Wisley in Surrey. I just wish my garden could look as good.

On Sunday we returned to Collectormania for a Star Wars get together. It's amazing how busy this show always is and I didn't get a break until the afternoon.

Before leaving I was persuaded to pose on the speeder bike - quite scary.

All for now and lets hope you enjoy the StarHyke trailer.

UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 23, 2006

Hello everyone

This is one of the shortest updates that I have sent . It takes in a day out with three of our grandaughters and our trip the Twin Cities, Minneapolis, St Paul.

No sooner had Jamie and his family arrived back from Italy they were off to Dublin for a birthday party leaving us in charge of their three girls. We had a great time at the local funfair, visited the beautiful Buddhapadipa Temple, and ended up on Wimbledon Common looking for Wombles? We had no luck but were greeted by the amazing sight of a heron landing on a lilypad

On 7th September Maureen and I flew out to Minneapolis and met up with Dave Prowse, Kenny Baker. We had been invited to attend the Wild River Festival in St Paul which was a mixture of comedy, song and jazz. Included in the festival was a Star Wars Day. We were lucky enough to see the wonderful Comedy Group 'Idiot Box' followed by stand-up comedians including the gifted Alex Cole, and funny girl Colleen Kruse.

One of the great things about being Boba Fett is meeting up with the 501st to just relax over a beer and bite to eat.

No trip to Minneapolis St. Paul would be complete without a visit to the Mall of America. Anton and Linda Peterson very kindly escorted us to the Mall on Sunday to do some compulsory shopping. The Mall is quite extraordinary as they have a very large funfair, and a miniature zoo.

We stayed at the St. Paul Hotel which I highly recommend for a very comfortable stay, and its lovely garden.

That's it for now - speak to you all soon.

UPDATE: AUGUST 28, 2006

Hi everyone

Sorry about the delay in updating the website. I have been home so little over the past couple of months there has been no time to sit at the computer.

We returned to Italy in late July to see the family before they return home to the U.K. at the end of August. A friend of Maureen's, Emma, came with us and on our arrival ,true to form, we were presented with a spectacular salad made from home grown figs, parma ham and mozzarella.

It was rather a busy time as there were many guests staying, and most evenings it was dinner for 16 people. After a tiring day around the pool!! we took it in turns to be head chef over the barbecue. No evening in Tuscany would be complete without an obligatory sunset..........

As we had rented a car we decided to make a three hour trip to see friends who have a house in Umbria. Our journey didn't turn out quite as expected. We set off confidently, laden with maps, but still managed to get horribly lost in the beautiful town of Montalcino. I took the wrong turning and we ended up at the bottom of a hill way outside the town. We decided we should turn back as the road was getting narrower all the time. Halfway up the hill there was a sudden shudder and we skidded into a ditch. The car was wedged firmly against a wall. We appeared to be in the middle of nowhere - it was lunchtime on Sunday, and nobody was to be seen. The car looked well and truly stuck and damaged - where was Slave 1 when I needed it?

At the nearest house a lady came out and between our non existent Italian and her equally non existent English we managed to explain our predicament. She called her husband, and I immediately telephoned my son who is fluent in Italian and between the two of them a pickup truck was organised. (Thank goodness for mobile phones!) We found ourselves outside a winery and we were offered a glass of Barolo to help us on our way. After an hour we heard the welcome sound of the pick-up truck. Amazingly the only damage to the rental car was to the wing mirror. We all piled into the truck to be taken to the garage for a final check - to see if we could continue our journey. We got the all clear and sped merrily away.

We finally arrived in Umbria, many hours late, hot and bothered. Our friends had a beautiful infinity pool and we all leapt in, grateful just to be there. We had a very relaxing overnight stay, and headed back the following afternoon to spend the last couple of days with our family. Tuscany is full of wildlife, and we often shared our room with a multitude of creatures. On our last day we visited the mediaeval town of Populonia which has amazing views and a wonderful fort.

Back in the UK we attended a show in Bristol which was taking place during the Bristol Harbour Festival. The harbour was heaving with people and it was an extremely hot day. The show was very well attended and I managed to show my compilation DVD for the first time in public. It is a montage of 50 years in show business.

The following weekend we set off for a ten day trip to Cleveland, Edmonton and Calgary. The first stop was Cleveland for a show called "Twisted Nightmare Weekend" and a twisted nightmare it almost was. On our arrival at the hotel we were confronted by a rather rude receptionist. Little did we know that the hotel had changed names four times in a month and most of the hotel staff were already in the know that their jobs were on the line. The restaurant was closed, there was no breakfast so to speak of. Many fans were confused by the hotel changing names and never managed to find it. Although poorly attended everyone rallied round the organiser and still enjoyed the "Nightmare" weekend. We were with Gerald Home (Squidhead) and had lots of laughs. The 501st Garrison presented Gerald and I with 'Jedi Knights of Cleveland' honorary membership. The organiser Robyn Griggs did a wonderful job despite all the setbacks.

On Monday 7th August Maureen and I flew to Edmonton, Canada where I was shooting a cameo role in a fan film which was great fun. It is always good to see new talent coming through making their films on a shoestring budget. I was glad to help and who knows what will happen in the future. In a few years time there could be a new George Lucas or Steven Spielberg emerging from these "Fan" films. The final leg of our trip was a 3 hour coach journey from Edmonton to Calgary. It was the most comfortable ride I have ever had on a coach.

I was a guest at Con-Version 22 which was originally a literary convention, and it was an honour to be invited along with writers such as Larry Niven and David Weber. As I am now an author I didn't feel out of place, and even sold a record amount of my books. Mark Allard, who was also involved with the fan film in Edmonton lives in Calgary, and took us to the Food Festival of Calgary. We sampled many delicious snacks from various countries. We were also taken by our hosts Raelyn and Kent to visit Heritage Park. Unfortunately the skies opened and we got soaked, but the weather improved enough for us to enjoy a train ride around this interesting park.

The event was extremely busy, and the authors were much in demand at the Q & A sessions. One of the young fans had a very interesting pendant round his neck (Boba's deathhead). It transpired that his mother had made it for the Native Chicken Dance and unfortunately he wasn't about to part with it - I thought it might have looked quite cool in my office! A massive thanks to all at Con-Version who made my trip possible. Another huge thanks to the 501st Badlands Garrison for the gift of a hipflask, and three wonderful books on the countryside of Alberta - thanks Boba Jay.

We were home for just two days, and it was back across the pond - this time to Secaucus. The night before we left we managed to fit in a visit to the Criterion Theatre in London's West End to see 'Star Wars - Shortened' - all six episodes in just twenty minutes!! - how clever. It was a coincidence that the presenter of the show was a lad called Ralf Little who I had worked with twelve years ago in the TV series 'Sloggers'. Ralf and I managed to have a chat after the show with of course the UK Garrison.

The show in Secaucus took place in a very nice hotel on the Hackensack River which had wonderful views of Manhattan and also a pretty nice sunset. Orli Shoshan and myself were the Star Wars guests, and we were busy for most of the weekend - I had not been to New Jersey for quite some time and it was great to see some of the East Coast fans. Yvonne Craig was a guest as it was the 40th anniversary of 'Batman'. I thought I had seen practically everything Boba Fett related, but was surprised once again when a fan brought up a model of the M & M car that actually was driven in the Phoenix Race in 2005. Thanks to organiser Ken for a funtime. On our last evening we went to a restaurant in Weehawken which looks straight over the Hudson to Manhattan. The photograph unfortunately does not do the view justice.

We are home now for a couple of weeks before heading back again to Minneapolis St Paul.

UPDATE: JULY 17, 2006

Hi Everyone wherever you may be.

Since the last update we set off to see our son Jamie and his family in Italy. What made it so special for us was that my eldest son Christian and his wife Deidre and their four girls were also in Italy. Barbecues were the order of the day as the weather was reaching high temperatures. Christian is a great football fan like me so we watched a couple of games in the World Cup down in the town square. . Although we had just a week in Italy it was a good time to catch up with all the news from two of my sons. We had one fairly decent sunset which of course I have to include in this update.

On returning to the U.K. we got ourselves ready for Germany where we attended "The Darkside Con" in a town just outside Bonn called Bad Godesberg. It was held in the most perfect setting and shared the venue with FeenCon an event for fans of Fantasy. Outside in the grounds it was like going back in time and reminded me very much of my days filming the TV show "Robin of Sherwood". Tents had been erected and fires were burning and everyone was dressed in medieval clothing. The costume contest was very good and it was strange to see a young Boba Fett amidst the serfs and ladies in waiting.

We enjoyed our weekend, but it was unfortunate that there was a poor attendance - this was probably due to the very hot weather and of course one of the World Cup matches between Germany and Argentina being played that weekend. We were in Cologne the evening that Germany won their game, and the fans went wild.

I found that I had watched four different World Cup games in four different countries - America, Italy, Germany (where England lost to Portugal) and finally England where I watched the final between Italy and France. Jamie was lucky that he saw the final in Italy when they defeated France. How nice to be living in the country that wins the World Cup.

Needless to say we are back to Italy very soon.

Hope your summer is going well, and speak to you all soon.

UPDATE: JUNE 27, 2006

Hi everyone

Here is the latest update from Holland, Columbus and DisneyWorld.

On the weekend of 27th/28th May we flew to Eindhoven in Holland to attend the Dutch StarCon. There was a great mixture of guests from film and TV. What made the convention so different was a reunion of the actors from the TV series "Allo Allo" which is still a big hit in Holland. It was good to meet up with the cast who I knew or had worked with in the past. Several of the actors had their original costumes and performed a very funny sketch - I found myself laughing out loud, and wanting the show to go on and on.

Pieter Soet who ran the convention has to be applauded for bringing the guys over from England for their first ever convention.

The event was held in an hotel which gave it a wonderful atmosphere. On Saturday evening a barbeque was arranged for guests and fans. Due the awful weather this had to be moved indoors.

I was given a rather delightful sketch by a young girl called Linda - she has a promising future as an artist. Also during the weekend another wonderful work of art was shown to me by its proud creator.

Fellow Star Wars guests were Caroline Blakiston, Dave Prowse, Kenny Baker and Andy Secombe. It was a pleasure to welcome Andy to the event - it was the first time we had met.

A great show and it is always a pleasure to be in Holland - good food, good beer and good company.

On June 1st we were off again to the airport, this time to Columbus, Ohio. I had been invited to attend the opening of the 'Star Wars - Where Science meets Imagination' exhibition at the COSI Museum. We arrived in dreadful weather - the storms seem to be following us around. I was up at the crack of dawn the following morning for radio and TV interviews. Later in the day we were taken to the COSI museum to look at the exhibition. It was fascinating to see some of the original costumes and props. Ed Rodley (the designer from the Boston museum) had done a great job.

The event was due to open at midnight, so we were treated to a great meal arranged by Brian. Later that evening there was a reception for all the VIP guests and the chef had triumphed in producing two amazing cakes.

As midnight approached it was incredible to see how many people had gathered to see the exhibition, there were also lots of children who were very well behaved for such a late hour.

After the exhibition opened I was signing autographs until around 03.15am when eventually they had to cut the line off. It had been a great success. It was off to bed for a couple of hours sleep before being back at 09.00 am the following morning. It was very busy again on Saturday, and I was delighted to be presented with a painting of a much younger looking me!

The 501st were there in force. Originally only around 100 were expected, but in fact more like 150 turned up. Maureen & were invited to have lunch with the garrisons, and then everyone posed for photos.

In the evening there was no escaping the 501st - they took over a ballroon in our hotel for yet another party. Although I had only one glass of beer I thought I was seeing double.

Sunday was a free day and Sarah who was the PR lady and her boyfriend Kelly very kindly took us to the Muirfield Village Golf Club to watch the final day of the Memorial Tournament. The weather had been atrocious for three days, but luckily stayed fine for most of Sunday. We walked part of the course and managed to get lost, we found ourselves in a hospitality marquee and on asking directions were immediately invited to sit down for some refreshments. Everyone was so friendly.

Our last evening was spent with the organisers from COSI and Chad Ball and his wife - Chad had been instrumental in arranging my visit, and had worked extremely hard to make it possible.

We had a fantastic time and if any of you go to Columbus do visit the COSI exhibition.

Monday morning and it was off to the airport to travel to Orlando and the Star Wars Weekends. We were met at the airport by our tour guide Anthony who has worked with us many times in the past. We had three days to relax and catch up from the lack of sleep in Columbus, but Anthony had different ideas and whisked us to some of the wonderful authentic restaurants in Epcot. Many thanks Anthony.

The firework display at Epcot which happens every evening is something not to be missed.

Over the next couple of days we dined in style and got see some of the attractions.

After three days of enjoying ourselves and behaving like five year olds it was time to begin the final Star Wars Weekend. A suprise guest was Rick McCallum who had enjoyed his first visit so much he decided to return.

The days started with a signing, followed by the parade.

Warwick Davis had been the Master of Ceremonies for all four Star Wars Weekends, and what a splendid job he did. Every day he surprised us with a different format for the stage show. My fellow guest was Temeura Morrison, so it was a show of the Fetts.

Temeura entertained us and had us all performing the Haaka - a Maori war dance.

After a few attempts we managed to get the Mickey song correct - I think the ears helped!

On the final day Warwick was presented with a wonderful statue of a Jedi Mickey, and all the famous faces of Disney came on stage to bid us farewell.

It was back to the Hollywood Hideaway to say goodbye to all at Disney and fellow guests.

On our last evening we went with Anthony to our favourite restaurant - The California Grill. The views are spectacular, and gave us an opportunity for a sunset photo over the Magic Kingdom - what a great way to end the trip, and thanks to all at Disney for a great weekend.

You can view all the photos from this trip right here:

That's all for now folks - we are off to Italy to visit our family, and hopefully some more glorious sunsets.

UPDATE: JUNE 08, 2006

Hi Everyone

Sorry for the delay on this latest update, but have had teething problems with the new computer.

At the end of April we made our first transatlantic trip this year, to Comic Con in Dallas. It was great to see old friends again like Denise who battled through a thunderstorm to collect us from the airport, and Kathy who was always on hand to see to our every need at the show. As I had not been to Dallas for two years there were plenty of fans who wanted to see Boba again. Unfortunately Maureen pressed the wrong button on our digital camera and managed to delete all the photos taken at the show, so we only have a couple taken by artist Cat Staggs who kindly emailed them to me. Dave Dorman was a guest at the show and painted a special picture for the programme that portrayed Boba carrying off Harrison Ford's lady (Marion from Raiders of the Lost Ark). It was my first chance to meet the lovely actress Karen Allen who was also a guest. Other guests included Dwight Schulz and artists Tim Bradstreet and Tom Hodges.

Many thanks to Ben Stevens and Philip Wise for putting on a very nice show.

On Sunday evening Angie & Peter Mayhew drove over and we all went out to dinner to catch up with the latest news.

We stayed on for a few days with Philip and his wife Anne, which worked out very well as Master Replicas signing. Officialpix are bringing out a new larger image of Boba and I got to sign those too.

Next was a short hop to Las Vegas where we were going to appear for two days at the Antiquities shop at Caesars Palace. We were met by bubbly Julie who drove us to the Luxor hotel that was to be our home for the next four days.

Every time we visit Vegas it seems to have grown. On our first evening we went to the Aladdin Hotel where we ate their superb buffet that features food from around the world. We also had the chance to see the amazing music and water display outside the Bellagio Hotel.

Back at the Luxor casino I found a Star Wars slot machine, and decided that if I was going to gamble a few dollars what better way than to play Star Wars.

On Friday we went to the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace where I met up with fellow guest David Barclay (chief puppeteer inside Jabba), and also Brian Eick (the promoter). We set up in the rather expensive shopping mall and with the help of Storm Troopers, Darth Vader and Boba attracted a lot of attention. It was interesting to meet so many British people who were on vacation. Many people were surprised to see two Star Wars actors in Caesars Palace and decided to buy gifts for friends and family. The atmosphere was perfect for the two day event.

On Saturday, one of the fans asked me if I could be a surprise guest at his friends wedding reception that was taking place in the Four Seasons Hotel that evening. I agreed, but mentioned that I had no jacket to wear to such a smart reception. The fan said it would be no problem "you are Boba Fett". When we arrived at the reception with our entourage of Star Wars characters we were kept hidden until the appropriate moment. On cue to strains of the "Imperial March" we made our entrance. I presented the groom with a copy of my book, and a signed figure of Boba Fett.

We were then invited to join the festivities, it was a wonderful end to our stay in Vegas.

Our next event was a short trip to Swindon, UK where we attended a special dinner for fans arranged by Luke Skywalker (Yes, its his real name). It took place at the Marriott Hotel and sixteen Star Wars guests had been invited. The dining room had been beautifully decorated with many Star Wars models, and all the actors changed tables for each course that meant people had plenty of time to relax and chat to everyone. The evening lasted well into the small hours, and I heard that the last people crawled into bed around 3.00a.m (not me!)

The following day the dining room had been miraculously transformed into a convention hall with dealer's tables and the same wonderful display of characters.

There were a lot of small children at the show and it was wonderful to see their faces when they saw so many Star Wars characters and the actors who portrayed them.

After the show we decided to drive to Bath and spend the evening at the Residence, a recently opened, very smart hotel, that is being managed by friend and fellow actor Richard Le Parmentier. All the rooms were exquisitely decorated, and the bonus was to have Admiral Motti cook and serve our breakfast the following morning.

After Bath it was off to see another friend in Bristol, Andrew Dymond from Lightworx. He is very kindly helping me put together a compilation of all my work since the tender of 12.

When all is done I will be able to show fans this DVD at future events as many fans ask me what other work I have done, now they will be able to see for themselves.

That's all now folks - we are off to Holland, Columbus and then Disney.

Report to follow.

UPDATE: MAY 02, 2006

Hi Everyone

Another month has passed by, and we are still waiting for the warmer weather to arrive here in the UK - although its not as cold as when I flew around the world in Slave 1 last week to get this magnificent shot of a sunset and the moon at the North Pole!

Over the Easter weekend we travelled to Wales for the Fantasy Mania show in Newport. It is a beautiful drive to Wales, and as we left really early the roads were empty. One spectacular view is going over the Severn Bridge into Wales, not quite as dramatic as the bridge into San Francisco, but pretty close.

The Show was very well attended, and was the first appearance for many of the actors.

This last weekend was a trip to Cesenatico in Italy, not quite close enough to visit our family, but it was great to see another part of Italy. We flew into Ancona Airport in our private jet loaned by a dear friend called Ryan......and were met by Mattia and Alessandro who drove us to Cesenatico, and in good Italian fashion straight to a restaurant for a delicious lunch. Our hotel was nearby, and very grand - in fact it was called the 'Grand Hotel'

We had the rest of the afternoon free to wander round the town, and see the beach - it was great to feel the sunshine and some warmth.

In the early evening we went to the venue for some interviews, and then it was off again for another feast of typical Italian pizza.

The following morning was free so we took advantage and explored the port and canals. Cesenatico became a port in 1314 and in September 1502 Leonardo da Vinci was called in to help find a solution to the perennial problem of sand bars silting up the harbour entrance - he wasn't just an artist but an architect and engineer too. The canal also houses the Museo della Marineria that has some very colourful old fishing boats.

After yet another - can you guess? - yes lunch it was finally time to join the convention. The Yavin Con is a small gathering of fans of all genres. They get together for a four day weekend and have a great time. I kicked off with another interview this time with Rita.

The fans then gathered to get their autographs, most of them spoke pretty good English - better than my Italian anyway.

After the autograph session there was a Q & A for one and a half hours. The audience were so appreciative, and the committee very kindly presented me with their convention t-shirt and a presentation box.

After dinner the games began in a very big way - I have never seen such a large trivial pursuit board!

I was tempted to join in, but the questions were way above me, even when translated into English.....

I met the artist Filippo Rossi who drew a rather splendid cartoon of Boba Fett for the Yavin Con calendar. The colouring was done by Stephano Vimercati.

'The fans then gathered to get their autographs, most of them spoke pretty good English - better than my Italian anyway'

Off to Dallas this weekend, so will catch up in a couple of weeks time.

Ciao, and keep smiling.

Jeremy

Hello everyone

Here is the latest update to keep you entertained, amused and on the edge of your seats. Since I last spoke to you Maureen and I went to the annual "Star Wars " day at Honiton in Devon. This was the tenth consecutive show the Exe-Wing Fundraisers have organised and the day was celebrated in honour of Michael Sheard who died last year. The attendance was amazing, over and above all previous shows and soon the Honiton sports hall was bursting. All day long the public continued to arrive.

Two costume contests were held, one for children and one for adults. The children's entries totaled around 40 to begin with, but as with little ones (some in nappies) a few chickened out at the last moment.

There was a good mixture of guests and it was a rare opportunity to catch up with news from costume designer John Mollo from the original trilogy. Both Julian Glover and the glamorous Caroline Blakiston were a welcome treat for the fans as they appear at very few shows due to their heavy work load. Kenny Baker was his usual jolly self and Warwick Davies and family were having a great time. Warwick kept the audience glued to their seats with some amusing games which involved all the actors on stage.

It was nice to see Christian Simpson who was not only in episodes I and III but was Hayden Chistiansen's stand-in. Master of ceremonies was Jerome Blake who had a hard act to follow in the shoes of the late Michael Sheard, but did an excellent job. Replacements for two guests who could not attend were the reliable duo, Paul Blake and Garrick Hagon.

The Saturday night dinner for fans and guests alike was a great way to get to know everyone and many of us wore colourful bow ties in honour of Michael.

The UK Garrison Trooper of the year was Pete TK2890 and a much deserved award it was.

At last I met up with the unmasked Darth Vader who graced us with his presence on the red carpet outside the Odeon Leicester Square for the premiere of Revenge of the Sith. Now I have unmasked the Dark Lord I will release his name to you all so he can start his own Fan Club!

The "Star Wars" day was a magnificent event and thanks goes to Andy Preston,Wendy Duffield and Andy Spencer. There are many other people to thank who were involved with the organisation of the Fundraising so this is to say you are not forgotten.

Maureen and I stayed in Honiton the night after the show as it is a long drive back to London. On our journey home we decided to stop at one of the great landmarks of England - the mysterious Stonehenge - a prehistoric monument that was constructed between 3050 BC and 1500 BC.

There was a time not so long ago when you could walk right up to the stones, but due to vandalism and graffiti a security rope keeps people at a good distance away.

I always try and give you a bit of history with the updates so I hope you have enjoyed the photos of Stonehenge. Well that's all for now, keep visiting and I will keep writing up the latest news. Before I close I am giving you the exe-wing fundraisers website where you can download the tribute they made for Michael Sheard www.exewing.co.ukindex.htm

Regards to you all

Jeremy

UPDATE: FEBRUARY 17, 2006

Hi Everyone

First of all I would like to thank all of you who sent me Birthday wishes and cards - another year older and hopefully wiser. One friend and fan in Germany who is a brilliant artist sent me this card and Tracy from Arizona sent me a 3D Boba Fett collage and Boba Fett watch for my collection.

As there has been a great response to the offer of a free signed photo with every purchase of my book 'Flying Solo' I will be extending the offer beyond February 28th until further notice.

Apologies for those of you expecting another sunset - the weather is pretty miserable here in the UK and we are lucky if we see the sun at all this time of the year.

I started off 2006 with a show in Colchester which was the first of its kind in that area. There were many guests from Star Wars and other TV and film productions but the most famous star of all was Sponge Bob.

At the beginning of February I had a request to visit Loughborough University to mingle and chat with the students. When we arrived at the hotel we were told the event would be starting at 11.00 p.m. - I was a little taken aback as I am usually in bed at that time. Anyhow I arrived and was shown to the Students Union bar where there were around 2000 students. It was a little difficult to talk as the music was so loud, and even more difficult to sign autographs because of the dimmed lighting. However many students were pleasantly surprised that Boba had dared to venture into their hallowed halls of learning. The evening or rather morning finished around 2.00 a.m - quite an interesting event and thanks to all the students.

Last weekend it was off to sunny Bournemouth (it actually was very sunny) to attend the 12th Star Fleet Ball, and what a ball Maureen and I had. The event takes place in an hotel so everyone comes for the whole weekend. On Saturday night there was a themed ball where everyone dressed as pirates - sorry forgot the camera. Most of the guests were from Star Trek headed by Kate Mulgrew who is a lovely lady and great fun as were all the female guests.

Also attending was Bobby Clark (his first visit to England) who played The Gorn in the Star Trek episode Arena. Rounding up the rest of the guests were some of the cast from the new Star Trek Voyages including John Carrigan, James Cawley, Jeff Quinn, Ron Boyd and Andy Bray.

What would a Star Trek convention be without Richard Arnold the Star Trek encyclopaedia. Thanks to Annie, B and James who worked very hard with their crew to make it a wonderful weekend.

That's all for now - my next update will be in March with the possibility of a sunset!

- Jeremy

UPDATE: JANUARY 16, 2006

Hi everyone,

A VERY HAPPY AND PEACEFUL NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

I hope everybody had a great holiday and did not indulge too much! We spent a quiet Christmas with our son Robbie and his family here in the UK. Baby Joss is growing rapidly, and keeping everyone awake at night. After Christmas we travelled to Italy to spend the New Year with Jamie and his family. Italy can be quite cold this time of year especially where they live high up on a hill so it was plenty of winter woollies and hot soup to keep warm. It was birthday time again and Connie was two years old on New Years Eve so plenty of chocolate cake.

In Italy New Years Eve is celebrated by firework displays at midnight, and the children had their own little display earlier in the evening. From the house we were lucky enough to be able to watch all the displays going on in the town below.

When in Italy I am always amazed at the spectacular sunsets, so here is yet another one.

Two hours drive away is the mediaeval town of Siena. We set off early one morning to visit this beautiful place. We spent the whole day exploring, starting off at the Piazza Del Campo - famous for the Il Palio horserace which first ran in 1238.

Also in the Piazza Del Campo is Palazzo Pubblico with the Torre Del Mangia which dates back to 1250.

We next visited the famous Duomo (Cathedral) of Santa Maria.

The library attached to the Duomo had the most incredible ceiling - it was founded in 1495 and houses some wonderful books.

Back home again, with the children tucked up in bed it was time to sample one of Jamie's famous Italian dishes, steak cooked on the open fire.

On our last day the weather was warm enough to sit outside at the seaside resort of San Vincenzo.

That's all for now - my next update will be in February - take care and speak to you soon.

Jeremy
